Paintings
In 1999, I moved to Bali to paint and create. Without the distraction of full time work, I set to improving my skills with oil paints. Painting portraits appealed and I focussed on these, while spending a bit of time, sketching and painting landscapes. Much time was spent experimenting and I painted a few series of stylised flowers. Eventually I needed to earn some more money and returned to Australia and worked in schools as a visiting artist, working with students to develop and paint murals on school walls. Returning to Bali after each residency, I would reproduce sections of these murals in oils on large canvases. Painting remained my passion for seven years, but then other creative endeavours took over.
